Does it have to match any other parts. If not look at Rowmark

You could try inexpensive ABS plastic, available as smooth or textured or
if you need engraving stock then as Jerry noted Rowmark

Garolite XX (a.k.a. Bakelite) (http://www.mcmaster.com/#garolite/=11n19zj) ?
Machines and engraves cleanly without melting.
Lots of good suggestions.
Don't you love it when someone has a question like the one posted then disappears. The forum is such a good resource but is all to often abused like this.
But thanks to all you guys for sharing your knowledge.

Joe,
I'm still here, I'm listening to peoples suggestions. I have already looked in one of the suggestions.

Not quite sure how you know he disappeared I'd do the same sit back and look at the answers that were posted Don't really see any abuse

It is probably not as serious as abuse but after 2 weeks it would be nice to see a "thank you for your suggestions" or "I tried material x and here is my follow up report". IMHO.
Most of us rely on a prompt reply to our question. That's what makes a forum like this valuable. I do my best to show my appreciation for the time and effort participants take to give advice. It's common courtesy.
This forum wouldn't be nearly as valuable without a thank you, every once in a while.
