I've been having this problem where X & Y is getting off by about 3 inches or so half way through a sign cut. It's happened several times and ruins the sign. I have checked to make sure it's not hitting any screws, rails are clean, plenty of slack in vac hose. Could this be a software glitch? Anyone else have this problem? Should I uninstall software and reinstall?

Jerry,
Have you done an aircut of one of the problem files, and have you measured to see if it returned to the actual Home position?
Run with DC on, and if it's not returning to Home, then run DC turned off.
Never had a Desktop lose position except for stupid moves on my part, or hitting a Hard Stop when limit switch was loose.
Try to narrow down what was the same in the files that were mucked up.

Thanks guys. Seems like it's only the Y. I have a shopbot desktop running 3.8.40. Toolpath behaves like it's hitting something but there is nothing on the tracks anywhere. I have vacuumed and took the air compressor to all parts to be sure it's clean.

So I start a job. It moves a little way and behaves correct then it behaves like it hits something but there is nothing. It happens it different places. When it does it, I stop the job then move the arrow keys over the area and nothing hits. It's smooth.

Figured it out thanks to Shopbot. One of my barring boxes went bad.
