Hello all,

I'm running in to trouble with my bot. Seems like when I turn it on, I don't hear the motors power up (normally I hear a subtle sound as if power is getting to them.) The power switch does light up red on the outside of the control box. I took apart the control box and it looks like the Mean Well box is getting power as the green light on it is on. (Not sure if its working right as I don't really know how to troubleshoot that, but the green light is on.) I'm not too sure what that box is for, but from there a power cable goes in to the back of the actual control box and plugged in to where the "other" power box is (its got an "A Open solutions components" logo on it.) If I unplug that box, so power is going to the Mean Well but then not continuing on to the other box, the Mean Well still has the green light on. So, I'm thinking it's the other box but that is totally just a guess.

Also, when I turn on the power the "PWR" led that's on the corner of the actual control board flashes on for a second and then turns of. It appears there's no lights that stay on on the control board.

I also noticed that there is a voltage adjustment knob on the Mean Well. Not sure if I should monkey with that, but if there's anyone out there that has a suggestion on what to do, I'm all ears.

As it often happens, it was running fine last time I ran it a few days ago.

Thanks,

Keith

OH, and it's a PRT 96 from 2005, the board says ShopBot Controls V3.54

Hi Keith

Did you get the problem fixed or figured out?
When I had the original control board on my PRT, it also lost power but it was not the power supply that went bad.
There's a little overvoltage suppressor that's soldered onto the board and mine blew out. It was an easy fix to just clip and de-solder the bad part and put in the new one. I have an extra one if you need it. It's new in the package.
