I was cutting a 3D file last night and about half way through I noticed that the move speed had drastically reduced. I paused the file and restarted but did not correct the issue. I then paused again and made a small decrease in MS, continued the file and it resumed original speed. This happened on the second file but none after that. Was this just an anomaly?

Dewey, as your cut file is 3d, it is probably far too long to post, but maybe you could attach the file for us to look at? Use the Find command in either the ShopBot editor or open in Notepad and see if you can find where the speed is being updated. You're looking for "MS" within your program and see if you can find where that speed is being updated. It's certainly not normal. Was your Move Speed being changed or your Jog Speed? I assume the former.

Tim, this is something that I and SBHQ have been trying to sus out for quite some time. I get it often with 3D files. Once it starts happening, it may go away with a pause/resume and it will generally come back over and over. Sometimes a full shutdown of both controller and PC will clear it for the next run. It's as if it shifts down to ramp speed and stays there.
What version of SB3 software are you running? What are your PC specs? Is it an AMD processor or Intel? They think that AMD processor are more inclined to have it happen and that's what I have.

I'm running a special firmware at the moment and I had it happen again, once, on a long running v-carve file.

Ok, good to know. That kind of blows the AMD thing and I've seen that too. I have been able to make it happen by swapping in my Intel laptop for a while and running with that. The latest version is 3.8.40 and I thought it was better, but I had a 3D file where I had to pause/resume no less than 50 times just to get it to finish. It would be good to send a report on it to support and cc to Ted as well. The more info on this bug that they have, the better.
