Somewhere I believe on this forum, I had seen a metal or simulated metal ply board. I was wondering if anyone knew what the name of this material is or where I can get it. The attached photo is similar to what I am looking for but looking to get a ply or MDF core.

Thanks

Is similar to what you’re looking for, but with a polyethylene core. To get something with an MDF core, likely you’ll need to glue up a HP laminate. All the major HPL suppliers have simulated metal patterns.

Looks similar to Max-Metal that I got from Grimco. Has the HDPE core so may not be what you want. Grimco has office in Raleigh. Southeastern Sign Supply out of Apex, NC might have what you need too.

The generic name for that material is ACM (aluminium composite material). Many people make it. Dibond is the "Kleenex" of ACM. Many other people make ACM, and it's often much cheaper than Dibond. From the sound of it, you're actually looking for Lusterboard. That's two pieces of aluminum sandwiching a sheet of 1/2" plywood. If you find this product not suitable, you're going to have to buy some aluminum and laminate it to your base substrate.

Any decent sign supplier should be able to help you with any of these products.
