hi!

2016 PRS standard 48x96
shopbot 3

lenovo desktop, brand new. isolated machine.

Issue:

when i was trying to set the Z zero, my assistant hit the stop button ,this caused the control software to crash. when it came back online the gantry was stopping very short of the limit switches and the limit switch input lights remained on even though it wasnt near the bolts. the gantry refused to go beyond a certain point. the gantry would not respond to keyboard controls either with the mouse or the keyboard itself. it also had a totally worng idea of where its X-zero and Y-zero axes were.

I reinstalled the software which was also difficult since it seemed to think it was still 'in use' at the time of trying to remove the application from the computer. this is with the machine off and the cables disconnected. i was able to install again from the jump drive and it works fine now.

i ran my very first actual cut file from the 'table surfacer' under the tool section. i entered the actual thickness of the material and ran the cut file. there were lines in the cut which i assume is the router being out of square to the table. the other thing i noticed is that the bed i installed on the machine is flush with the front surface of the front rail
is that correct? i ask because the tool never cut the last inch of the spoil board and when it started its first pass was through the air in front of the spoil board. should i zero the x axes closer to the material in the front? thanks..

As for your zero you should put a v point in and do a C3 and then manually move the bit so the point is right on the corner of your table. Add the amount that you moved it to the offset in the setup
