New Computer?

I have 2001 PRT shopbot with a computer of the same vintage. The old computer doesn't communicate well with my new Windows 10 office computer that, I do most of my design work on. So I decided to get a newer computer for the shopbot to solve that issue. What do I need to lookout for and will the cable from the control box hook into new style computers?

Why not get a NAS and save your files on it. I have a link station that works with all my computers
