Here is a e-mail that I got from The Ky Arts Council. Lately our company has become a hot topic with the Arts council and the State Department of Economic Development. The Economic Development Department came by to show off our new shop while I was making some business card holders for our Lumber company to take to China.. They liked the card Holders so well they have ordered 100 so they can give them out as gifts. A group From the AmeirCorps was with them and they ended up ordering 45 small state cutting boards with their logo and info lasered on them.

Is your new studio/shop completed enough for visitors to come? We’re working with the Foundation for Appalachian KY and they have a group of people coming from Louisville who are interested in seeing what’s going on in E. KY with artisan entrepreneurs. It would be about a 45-60 minute visit on August 10. Received

Not yet... almost there... I have been too busy to be able to spend very much time working on it. work did not slow down this year, it actually picked up almost double. I am shooting for October to be in there and ready to start classes.

Hi Gene- Gene here... gotta ask what you have for a laser? I have been immersed in learning about lasers since the first of the year when I imported a Chicom 1300x900, 130w laser.

They open doors and can do things that the cnc can not...

You have that correct- and much easier to run than a CNC. I am not familiar with Torex and I have heard a lot of good things about Rabbit and it's owner... but they use Leetro controllers so you are limited to Lasercut software. I started with that combo and switched to Ruida and RDworks software- far superior in my opinion. I am pretty well versed in Chinese lasers if you have questions. Chinese 130w tubes are about $1500. I just received a call from a lady in Georgia this afternoon. The number of people that are going to be coming on the tour of our new shop has grown from 20 to 46...There will be two foundations instead of one, a South Eastern State Foundation and the Appalachian Foundation.

We ended up having over 60 people show up, and we ended up with 3 foundations. They are looking at ways to help other artist and new artists and companies. They ended up staying beyond the time they had planned most had questions and we did a demo on several differ net equipment. All and all the meeting went great, lots of responses from everyone.
