08-22-2016, 01:08 PM
This year's Michigan Camp ShopBot is on Saturday, October 15
Hosted by TechShop Detroit (http://www.techshop.ws/ts_detroit.html) (800 Republic Dr, Allen Park, MI 48101), join us for a day of topic-based presentations concerning all things ShopBot, from software to machining to maintenance. You do not need to be a member of TechShop to attend.
Year after year, this is one of our best attended Camps!
Camps are intended for any skill level and all types of ShopBot users. We cover an array of topics that can be applied to any application such as how to calculate feed/speed rates and chipload and how to keep your machine tuned up and running smoothly. And other technique-based topics such as setting up a file and machining a 2-sided project, best practices in 3D carving, and tips for cutting plastics, foam and alternative materials.
We'll also present on some of the new features of Aspire 8.5.
Camps are free and lunch is included but registration is required to help in the planning:

1:30- 4pm: Afternoon Presentations
Camps usually wrap up by 4:15.
**Every Camp has a Show and Tell Session that lets you as the attendee show off your projects and talk a bit about your process. This is what makes each Camp really special and different: Seeing all the various things being created using the machines! Anything from a ShopBot-made jig, to a complex 3D carving, to a test piece gone wrong, to flatpack furniture, having an array of items really enhances the conversation. So get those projects finished and bring them along in October! We'll have floor space available as well as tables to set your projects on.**
This Camp is great for anyone living in Michigan and Ohio and Windsor-area of Canada.
