Mounts for the Desktop

Hi all,

I am going to be using the desktop to do a two sided milling of a small model of an F1 car(about the size of a pinewood derby car) the block of wood from which it will be cut has a hole in the back of it where a CO2 cartridge will be placed to power the car.

Anyone have any ideas about how to mount the block of wood with clamps or a jig to do the cutting? What do most users of the desktop use to mount the material from which things will be cut? IS there a place to buy mounts for the desktop or what should I purchase to make my own?

Maybe this will give you some ideas?
Did you get the quick jig files or any wedges or fences when your machine arrived?
You have the best jig maker you could want waiting for your ideas:)

No mine didn't come with any wedges or fences, and I cant find any files for jigs on the USB drive they gave me. I see how you can make a jig with the shopbot but how will I hold down the block of wood to cut my jig, need a jig for that too.

How will I hold down the wood to jut my jigs? Just drill them directly into the spoilboard?

Yep, you'll be screwing down to build your jigs.
You have to decide what you need.
