Ok i need to make a lid for this horse feed box so that no creatures and bugs can get in so i need to make these angles meet tight to seal it.
First picture is side of box for reference.
2nd pic is the two angles meeting
3rd pic is just a shaky drawing of lines.
I have an angle finder and what i think i need to do is find that angle (blue line) cut the lid at that angle and cut the top at the corresponding opposite angle for them to meet, right?
Unless you can think of a different way to do this?
Also i'm thinking some kind of barndoor hinge/strap hinge?

I'm going for the picture's worth a thousand words here :)

The edge angle of each panel should be half of the corner angle that they're meeting at, assuming the thickness of each is the same.

Both angles should be the same and the longest side should be up on each piece

I agree that you would want the angles to be the same. your question makes me think you are not liking the geometry. if you cut out the side piece on your bot, measure your angle. it looks to me like it's somewhere close to 135 degrees inside angle. if so, that leaves your outside angle to be 360-135, approx. 225 degrees. divided by 2, as 2 pieces make up the angle, 2 x 112.5, tilt tablesaw to 22.5 following this example. cut angle sides first, then straight side to fit.

You are wanting to bisect the angle.
With your adjustable angle finder and a compass it is easy.
Set the two pieces aside. Make a mark equidistant from the point of the angle on each side.
Couple inches is fine. Open your compass larger that that distance and with the point at the edge of the board where the marks are swing it so you have 2 arcs intersecting. Draw a line from the point of the angle in the side through where the arcs meet. Now use your angle finder and you have two cuts that match for your panels.
Search "bisect an angle with a compass" and you'll get illustrations and videos.

If you cut the side panel with your ShopBot, pull the vector drawing up and find the angle with the angle measuring tool then subtract that number from 180 and then divide by 2 and you'll have the angle for each piece.

Question: What did the acorn say when it grew up?
Answer: Geometry (Gee, I’m a tree). I admit after trying to come up with the answer i had to google it. lol

Googling it is cheating Jack!! :)
That joke woke me up, as it's a White Oak acorn year and my steel roof and greenhouse have been being pelted for a month now, and my subconscious keeps thinking someone's knocking on the front front door:)
Funny though to have a gust of wind, and see 2 dozen ducks rush to the other side of the beaver pond because of the "Incoming!" acorns from Oaks on my side the were feeding under.
I was going to ask Dave this morning:)
Good luck on the bin...mice will chew through/enlarge the least gap in wood...the least bit of metal will totally frustrate the little suckers.
I married into 3 Quarterhorses many years ago so I know.
