I'm using a tinted epoxy glue with set-up time of 4 -5 hours with total cure time of 72 hours on a piece of engraved cherry wood. I'm inquiring if anyone has used epoxy glue before, and what steps were utilized to minimize clean-up of the wood.

What do you want the epoxy to do? Go clear on cure?

Sealing the object piece before engraving helps prevent the epoxy from soaking into the surface and makes sanding it flat come out better.

Speaking of coloring the epoxy, what is used to add the color to it? I have some solid surface material that I am wanting to do this too.

Besides doing cutting boards to include cribbage boards I also, do air brush painting which is the paint I mixed with the 2 part epoxy. I let the glue sit for approximately 12 hours before I do anything with it. The touch test works for me if it's tacky then I let it sit for an additional 12 hours. Hope this helps.

Your right first time out completed the lettering poured the tinted epoxy and after drying the surrounding material soaked up the epoxy glad it was waster stock. Using your advice will cut out the lettering seal everything then pour in the epoxy.
