On a recent project, I had used the fluting tool path in Aspire. I used a 1/4" radius ball nose bit, at a depth of 1/8" and ramped in and out of the cut over a distance of 2". I also used the same bit on the edges of the column at depth of 3/16" just as a profile cut on the line. Plinth blocks from 1/2" material were added to the top and bottom of the column.

The cabinets were designed in eCabinets and cut on the ShopBot via the ShopBot Link.

I thought it came out great and it was pretty easy to set up and cut.

Nice work. I like how you staggered the start points on the flutes. What material did you use and did you do them one at a time or do plate production?

Very nice job!!! Aspire does a great job of flutes. I had an opportunity to do some for another cabinet shop and used Aspire 4.5. Wish I had thought to stagger the start points. That is a really nice look.

Thanks for the compliments everyone!

I cut them all at once from a sheet of door grade MDF.

Very nice Keith !!

Tim, how is your shop coming along?

That's a nice looking study Dave. I like the molding on the side of the cabinets. Thanks, it's given me an idea for an upcoming project :)

Very nice work Keith!

Dave, is that onlays on the arched top rails of the cabinets or did you cut them with your machine? They look curved on the one with the screen and kind of straight on the other cabinet.

The lower pieces of applied molding on the arches are bent on both cabinets.
I take 2 lengths, slice them so I have 2 halves, bend and glue together to create 1.
