View Full Version : Resin paints?

I am working on an emblem for my station, but I haven't decided the best way to paint it yet. I tried latex enamel, but it just doesn't have the effect I want. I have some masking film, but I was wondering about doing this with epoxy resin so it will have some shine to it. Any suggestions? The circle will be cut through, I just did this for a hold down on my first test run.
Thanks
Darin.

I like the panel left natural. Perhaps a little gold on the letters but painting it makes it look too plain.

Thanks Joe. Yea, a few guys just want plain finished hardwood. I'm going to try and get a few done before Christmas. Maybe I'll try some gold lettering, that'll be a new one for me.

Darin,

Perhaps you could use one of the Sikkens stains, for a background color, with some kind of imitation gold. I'd be hesitant to recommend Gilding on a short turn around. There's several critical steps when laying down gold. I'd recommend you give it a try when you have plenty of time.

Is there a favorite easy to use / two part "blue epoxy paint" out there for creating lake and river maps ?

thanks

You can raise shine by overcoating with a more glossy clear coat. This also protects your base color.
