Lately my ShopBot won't find home when I ask it to. The proxy switches light up when they sense the home stop, but the gantry just keeps going until it hits the stop on the rack.
Since the proxy switch lights up when it's suppose to, I assume my problem is a radio button that got changed or a preference that has been changed? Is that the case or do I have something more serious going on?

It's a PRT96 that I purchased in '03. I'm using part wizard 1.02 that came with the machine and the proxy switches are item #952005.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

Are you talking about the light on the switch or the light on the pc screen? Make sure when you run a metal piece under the switch that the light in the shopbot software is lighting up also.

I was talking about the light on the switch. I didn't check the screen. I'll do that & see what it does.
Thanks

Gary...
Make sure that your prox switches are configured properly. The PRT uses normally open switches on a single input and PRS uses normally closed on 2 separate inputs. You can access these settings at the console using the [V] [N] command. Check your manual or see documentaion online at www.shopbottools.com (http://www.shopbottools.com)

I haven't had a chance to check the proxy switches yet but it might not make any difference now. Picked up a virus this afternoon and the PC up & died. My son has everything (discs) ready to rebuild the thing tomorrow. We'll see how things work once it's all back together again.

After everything was reloaded the proxy switches are working again. Unfortunately there is still some sort of virus on the hard drive, so we may have to reload everything again. Found a problem on one of my thumb drives, but too late.
