I have a simple fixture. 4 inches square with a one inch square boss in the very center. See picture. 30111

When I run the tool path for pocketing out the material around that center boss, the tool wants to come to the edge of the center square, plunge down into material and then "spiral" it's way from inside to outside of part.

Is there a way to change that tool path to start from the outside of the part and "spiral" it's way in towards the center?
(I'm using Vcarve Pro)

I don't really want to change to "raster" cut if I can get the "offset" function to work from outside to inside.

Thanks

Not really....It would be a nice feature to have that option on occasion.
You CAN give it a long ramp to eliminate any one spot plunges.

You can also do two profile passes with spiral ramp first, offset your pocket vectors about 1/2 the bit diameter and the plunge or climb marks will be in the scrap areas only.
