I have a 2004 Alpha 4x8 with two Colombo 3 hp spindles. It is normally used on ecabinets to cut out cabinet boxes. I noticed a while back that my shelf holes were not lining up correctly where they should be. At first I thought it was a programming error on my end but I am getting into using vcarve and it was again not aligning with what I see on my computer screen. I slept on it overnight and I come to the conclusion that I don't think my z and a axis is are lining up with bed at 0,0

The distance between the two heads is controlled by an offset in the "my_variables" file. The X and Y versions of: &my_XinHead2offset=

You should be able to get some assistance in the [T] [S] command (ShopBot Setup) on getting the offset correct and entering it into the file.

I believe I have this setup correctly now. Is there a way to check to make sure I have it correct? I zeroed the z center axis to the bed
Then I moved the a axis to center on 0,0 and came up with 7.08 on the x axis and -.125 on the y axis. I went to the my_variables and changed it to 7.08 for x and -.125 for y. I am unsure whether it is a - number or a + number to type in. I will attach a picture of the sb3 program.

I am having trouble getting a picture of the program loaded. It reads x 7.08 y -.125 and that it the center of the a axis to 0,0

There are 2 different ways to look at the "head 2" offset. The first, and my preference, is "the position head 1 is at when head 2 is at 0,0" the second is the inverse.

The old system that uses a separate "head 2" post processor used the second. The current MTC system uses the first.
