I have a PRT dating to about 2001. Can I cut 3D files that interpolate in the XZ or YZ axis? My post from Vector gave me a file that my machine improperly ran. Does the current shopbot control software recognise the G18, G19 work planes?

Keith,

What type of 3D file are you posting from Vector? If the file contains any arcs that are in the XZ or YZ plane, they will first need to be changed to small segments with "Break Interpolate". You can set the size of segments also.

ShopBot does not recognize arcs in G18 or G19 planes.

What version of Vector and .cfg file are you using to generate the .sbp file? shopbt2g.cfg is the newest.

Scott, I was drawing a tool path that has an arc in the xz plane at cutting depth in AutoCad and then importing a dxf file into Vector 9.4. I will try the Break interpolate and see how that works. Previously, I went back into AutoCad and segmented my arc into small line segments. I will update my post too. Thanks Keith
