I just downloaded the latest update.

The program has a few little extras I like but the third time I ran a file it didn't ask me to turn on the router... I hit the spacebar as the gantry moved... I hit the return button, it still moved... the router plunged down and just broke a new 18 dollar bit just as I turned the control box off.

That is the first bit I've broke in three years and it wasn't my fault.

It did it again. I had to hit the space bar 6 times for the router to stop.

I'm have XP and the only other programs on the computer are Artcam Rhino and explorer. No other programs are running and i never had this problem before downloading the latest software.

Do you think It's the computer or the program? Anyone else having the same issue?

I've had to replace keyboards. You might try that.

I've noticed thru different versions of the control software that any of the interupts (s-key, space bar, mouse click on stop) behave very unpredictably. Probably something to do with the way Windoze works, more than with SB3.

RE: not asking for router to turn on, I get that from time to time, as well as after I start the spindle and hit enter, the machine jogs home and then stops and says that I hit a stop command. I'm thinking now that it might be a double key press registering. Not sure if the windows key bounce buffer applies to SB3??

But, like Erminio said, just learn to love it, because it is definitely always our fault

An older version worked instantly, The new version takes two strokes to open functions like the keypad

Please make a fix for the next upgrade as it seems like a bug

I've seen this happen in older versions of the software when ArtCAM Pro or Insignia are installed on the machine, as the sentinel drivers are ALWAYS looking for a dongle, whether running or not. I have also witnessed the same unresponsiveness of the soft/keybaord e-stops. This is a good time to locate your mechanical e-stop and keep it within arms reach.

I have seen the same issue, what I have found is that I need to press the key on the keyboard only once and wait, if I press it twice it thinks I want the file to continue to run. I agree the old control software would stop it right away.

Who do we ask to make the new 3_5_14 behave like the old 3_4_27 ?

Ted will look into the issue

Ted is really concerned that our machines work well.

Here is what to try. Open SB3. Pull down VR, try changing the "Fast Stop Threshold to 3.5" and see if that does the trick... You can also play with the Keyboard options below that window.

My need to rapidly stop the machine was when the Z was going down and I realized it was in the wrong place.

The Fast Stop Threshold is a way to slow the machine to a stop or program it to quickly stop.

Anyway, good luck and keep those cards coming, Friday is my Birthday and I will be.... old.

And again... I set the numbers and forgot about it but Ted followed up to make sure I was happy. That is good customer service.

The fast stop threshold has nothing to do with the tool not responding to e-stop commands via keyboard or mouse. It ONLY has to do with ramping down to a smooth or abrupt stop ONLY when in keyboard mode.

Next time the spacebar or 'S' doesn't work, hit the mechanical e-stop. Then restart the PC. It should be fine then.
