Router Collet Upgrade

My Shopbot Buddy Porter Cable router #7518 only came with a 1/2 collet. I think I will upgrade to a precision set of collets and nut. So far I am looking at Think & Tinker, Ltd. Precise Bits

I have had pretty good luck inserting these into the PC collet.

I have about eight 1/2" PC collet holders (seven dollars each?) and I keep the most common bits I use in the collets all the time... A bit of a hassel to insert a bit at every tool change... just spin on the entire item instead.

I use a lot of the 1/2 by 1/8 adapters #273. Seems a little medium strength Locktite on the bit shaft helps hold the small bits better.

No, my router uses the regular 7500 Porter Cable collets, not the ER, my link went to the first page of their web site. Here is the "Precise Bits"collet I would need.......

I seem to remember a few years ago, a couple people went the same exact way with the PreciseBits ER set-up.
If memory serves, they LOVED it.
Can't seem to find the thread though:(
Maybe they'll chime in on their long term impressions?

I have both styles… I don’t remember why! Both styles work well… The only thing I don’t like are the adapter sleeves…
