I am upgrading my PRT with a Gecko box and 3 amp Oriental SG 7.2 motors. My Gantry is derailing. I don't know if it is because the motors are out of synch becuase of the control box or if it is in the Shopbot table.
Since the motors are different than the original I had to make new mounting plates. The axles of the new motors are 1/4" shorter than the original Oriental 2 amp motors. I think I have the rack and pinion fitting but I don't know how fussy that connection is.
My table is close to square but not perfect.
One X motor almost appears to me to hesitate at times before the derailment. Particularly on the start-up of a movement. My original PRT did 180 ipm. This will do 300 ipm. The derailment is at about 240 ipm.
Anyone have any ideas?
