I have a solid copper wire that runs from the main trunk of my dust collection ductwork down a flexible hose to the dust boot on my machine. Issue is that, over time, and repeated movement, it periodically breaks. Is there a better alternative? Among other things, I wondered about hanging a small link copper chain inside the hose...

Hadn't seen one that didn't have a plastic coating, but will do search now...

Thinking this might be what I'm after:

You can get that in the length of your choice at any electrical supply house if all HD has is precut lengths.

Thanks. The supply house is actually closer to me than HD, so that might be the better route anyways...

My dust collector uses a 5" hose that has a copper clad wire integral to the tube as the coil that holds the hose open. I ground it on both ends. Never had a problem with static.

Most big box stores have .023 copper clad MIG wire on a 1# spool. Works great. Wrap it around a rag and let the DC pull it through the hose while you throttle it.
