The city of Dell requested us to fabricate one of their park signs to match their previous ones made. The former sign company used Extira but over the years it hadn't held up. They had twelve similar signs made with gilded letters. The gold was flaking off. Our remedy was to use PVC with anodized DiBond.

This panel was a simple one to make and the DiBond letters went down in short order. This is fun work.

Thanks Tim.

I'm in full agreement. Have a look at one of their previous signs. Hope you can see the problem with the 23k gold lifting.

Just can see the white in the letters, but above that your sign looks a lots mo better!

That's southern for "Very Professional" ;)

Are they going to have you replace more of the failing signs?

The previous signs were made by sandblasting Extira then painting them black. All are slowing coming apart. It's doubtful they will spring right away for replacement. I can understand since each cost approx. $2,750.

I've considered offering to cutting gold DiBond to cover the 23K but all in all that's probably asking for trouble. I'm afraid replacement will be necessary.

I too have been guilty of using Extira so I can't be too critical. But the real problem was in the sandblasting. That opens up any composite wood material to weathering.

Good looking copy.

What is the bumpy texture of the background? What adhesive do you use to attach the DiBond to the PVC?
