I am trying to cut a 12 hour file and have successfully run this one twice before. This time about 2 hours into the cut the y axis skipped about 8 inches but I didn’t realize for another couple hours because of the way the project was cutting. What could cause such a jump? I certainly want to avoid this in the future

the first thing to look at with spontaneous moves is static electricity

Do you have screen saver on? It messed up a job of mine a while ago.

Nope no screen saver but I think I figured it out. I think it was a simple mechanical problem. I just swapped out my router for a spindle and the the power cord got looped around a corner and stopped the gantry from moving all the way back towards its zero value. I only noticed when I tried to zero the table this morning to restart the job. Totally my bad
