I'm going to look at cutting a boat kit, and the two possible file types they can supply are either a jpeg or a tiff. I'm pretty sure I'll end up doing a bitmap trace in Aspire of the shapes to be cut, but is either one going to better than the other?

TIFF will most likely be higher resolution, but potentially VERY large on disk. JPEG is a 'lossy' type image file, which takes advantage of how color is perceived by the human eye to reduce file size.
