A friend's father passed away, and they asked me to carve an image into wood of his favorite place from an picture they have.

Does Aspire 9.5 have the ability to carve an image into wood like PhotoVCarve does?

I've googled, searched, browsed, but can't nail down how to do a what PhotoVCarve does using Aspire 9.5.

If the answer is Yes, can you point me to a tutorial / training / forum thread explaining how to do it.

If no, has anyone used PhotoVCarve and what's your opinion of it?

You need better GoogleFu grasshoppa: Aspire's approach to PhotoVCarve (https://forum.vectric.com/viewtopic.php?f=28&t=8731)

I have both. PVC is pretty cool as a stand alone for this kind of stuff because every action is geared towards photo engraving (obviously) - Aspire takes a lot more focus, but also allows tweaks PVC doesn't, like being able to output rotary etc.

Good luck with the gift - sorry for your loss.
