Collet help

I have a desk top with p/c router , p/c don't make 1/8 collet, need reducer for 1/4 or 1/2 p/c collet. i have reserched most collet reducers on line, any one have any input on this. I can't afford a spindle. Looking for best applid practice. Thanks in advance Jerry

precise bits has a 1/8" collet and nut for some router models.

I would not personally use a reducer as I have heard they add to runout. I have the precise bits 1/8th inch and it works real good for my router.

I have used these adapters for a number of years for bits with an 1/8 inch shank.

I like the #273 and place a bit of medium strength loctite on the shank before I insert the bit.

have used collet adapters (1/4" to 1/8") with good results and also a 1/2" shank ER adapter collet so I can use ER collets in my Makita router.

Some metal parts are shipped with a rust preventative coating that would clean off with kerosene or some other solvent.
