Here is a nifty little hook I've been making and giving away .
It enables folks to open doors , lift bags, and punch buttons without touching anything . If someone insists on shaking hands , You're covered . It works well .
This little hook has been much more popular than I ever expected and would be a good quick project if you want to do something for folks in your area .
It is a “quick and dirty” design that requires very little set up. I'm sure you can find ways to improve it for your situation or even come up with your own design . I would encourage you to experiment .
I am using 0.25” HDPE which is fairly inexpensive, it is very easy to machine, and can be sterilized using the usual disinfectants. It can even be boiled.
If you would like to start making these hooks for folks in your area , just email me at kenkpd@sbcglobal , put “ CoVad Hook File” in the subject line and I will send you the drawings and cut files . Feel free to modify them any way you like .
