Yesterday while sanding spoons I got this ratchet strap vise in my head it works great to sand the spoon scoop area I will be using it often I think.

The outside I do with a homemade flap sander and I was sanding the spoon area with a flap head mounted in my lathe but that was awkward.

Wonderful, I love homemade tools. What do you use the flap sander for other than spoons?

Thanks Guys

Phil I use it for anything that is not uniform. Works great on my freeform walking sticks.
I started making pipes since a certain herb has been legalized in some states, sands them nicely great way to utilize scrap.

I made a drill bit guide for the pipes to keep the long bit from wandering.
