A corner block is a fixture for finding the X,Y and Z coordinates of a piece of material… more specifically, for setting the origin at a corner of the material. Since most CNC users have a Z-zero plate that uses electrical conductivity to help establish the Z origin, it’s just a bit more programming to use that same circuitry to establish all three axes.
Establishing 0,0,0 at a point on your material is, in my experience, a machinist’s mind set where woodworkers traditionally have used the lower left extremities of their machines travel, typically set with proximity sensors.
Sometimes its nice to be able to establish the origin at another location due to the irregular shape of the stock or if you’re adding some operation to an existing part… like personalizing a jewelry box.

Here is a quick DFX of what Mine looks like. I pocketed the square .125 and through pocketed the circle you may have to adjust the size of the hole to match you copper cap. I then just wired a clip to the cap and glued it in the hole.

More info in your other thread on the same subject, with files and instructions needed to make it work. There are also files in the sbparts folder that you can learn from and adapt to work with one of your own making.

Hey Richard... I checked into it for you and it looks like ShopBot had sent you a quote that included shipping via UPS for $78.19. Let them know if you didn't get that quote.

I got that one. That's in US dollars. It is no different than the Fedex quote. That will translate into close to $150 Canadian when the courier stops extorting me for brokerage fees, handling fees, fuel fees, etc. There is a 3% charge by the credit cards or PayPal or my bank to convert the Canadian money to USD. Then there is the exchange rate at close to 40% on everything. Then when that is all totaled, we get hit with a 13% tax. I just ordered something larger than that plate and the shipping was less than $20 CAD.
I just did a quick estimate and I got $157 and change Canadian on the shipping fees. Fedex and UPS quotes are the same.
If it gets ship by USPS, the cost goes way down. USPS hands it off to Canada Post at the border and there usually is no brokerage fee, but the most they charge if they do is $5. I am looking for one that is used so it can be mailed to me as SB won't use USPS.
