I'm upgrading my 2013 PRS Alpha to the Acorn control system and will have the old parts (control boards, cabinet, motors, cables, indexer motors and cables) available probably around July. I'm posting this to gauge interest.

My machine has been used continuously in a climate controlled clean shop. I do no production work and essentially, this is a machine used to create prototypes and one offs. I have a fresh set of pinions I'll include as well. Supposedly, a PRT could be upgraded to a PRS with all this equipment. Anyone interested? I think it's worth about $3k.

I think I'd be interested. How soon do you get your equipment? Are you getting a full retro by Gary or something? Or are you planning on building it up yourself? (Trying to gauge how long you may need to hold onto the old system. I am not in a hurry. I have an idea for another machine, but have not built it. So I would not be pressed to have it fast- IF that is of help to you.)

Thanks

Monty

I'm getting the full "Gary" treatment. I haven't received the system from Gary yet but will probably get it in the next couple of weeks, then it will take a week or so to install, so probably by the end of July I'll have the parts ready to sell. Everything is in great shape and I've had very good success with the SB system. I'm still at the original versions of software and firmware.

Gary and I had a long conversation this AM and he informs me that my custom machine requires a different set up- that the PRS Alpha series will not position and hold what I want to do. I am doing some re-figuring and calculating. I will be sure to keep you informed.

Thanks.
