Had a weird one today. I was cutting out a 3d sample (shopbot tools sample, dish style) with a 1/8" ball nose bit. It was going back and forth on the x and cutting the dish and the 3d artwork out. About 3/4 to finishing the file it changed its start point to enter into the dish and ended past the dish end point. It aslo cut deeper than supposed to. I also noticed that when it happened the z raised up to around 2 inches above the work peice when it was ending and entering the dish. It was previously only around 1/2 above. I sent the router to home position and it was off on the x by the same amount as off on the workpeice, so I guess it lost or changed its home x setting somehow.I have the machine grounded and dust collector pipe grounded. This is the first time this has happened so far. Just wondering if anyone has experienced this and any suggestions. I checked gound continuity and it has continuity from the router to a ground in a receptacle. I have a sub panel in my shop coming off of my house panel. Is it possible that my ground in the sub panel is not adequate?

How fast where you running IPS?
Was the file stored on the bot PC or did you run it over the network from another PC ?
What ver. of USB ports do you have on the PC controlling the bot ?.
was there anything running in the background that could have started up , or was accessing the internet ?. IS your bot a prs standard or prs alpha?.
Check those items out that might answer some questions .

The file was stored on the pc running the bot. I only use the computer for running the machine and don't have it hooked up to the net. I have turned off updating and think there is nothing running in the background. The usb port is 2.0. The computer is a dell Gx260. I am going to install a usb card. I found a post from Brady that the port on my dell also use power for other things. I am at 74% in my communications check. I had a few issues before grounding. I am not sure of speed right now but it was running the 3d business sign shopbot provided with the machine.
