After it follows the pattern and writes its program, where do I transfer the program to so it will do the cutting? We want to be able to cut 3 times but it will only go to 1 depth, not the 2nd or 3rd. The paperwork says for more info go to the website, but we can't find anything once we get there in the way of help (besides this of course). Thanks,
John & Rich

I'm not the one to be answering this but someone will correct me if im wrong, But as I understand the pattern wand traces a given line drawn on paper and then creates a sbf but if you are following a given line it could only cut to one depth< that value you input and not another one any deeper unless you run the file again and then enter the cutting depth deeper and so on and son for each depth or a change of patern. I hope my insight is correct David in Wyoming Ps this would give you three different files if I'm correct.

David is correct, only the depth entered in the original trace setup will be entered as the z depth. However what I do is change the z proportion, ie if the original depth was 1 inch, then enter z proportion at .33 for first cut, .66 for second pass and 1.0 for third pass thus getting three incremental cuts to a depth of 1 inch. Make sense? This works for me.

I just received the new poly line probe file from Shopbot. It will output a dxf polyline file that you can manipulate in a cad/cam program. I was also told that it would be put on the web site for download. As of this morning I have not found it. So maybe soon.
With a dxf you can add depth, passes and change cutting direction. This will make the probe or wand return a dxf file. Brian from shopbot ran the file with both yesterday and reports that it works well.
Signature Woodworking I am sending the file to you. I am told that it will be place on the web site soon.

I also have run the polyline probe file supplied by shopbot and it works great. I was able to edit and manipulate before outputing to a sbp file.
