when I try to enter C2, C3, JH, I have this error message. I've tried to restart my computer, turn of and unplug the controller but nother has worked so far. I've pulled up a file and it will run, but I can't zero my Z.
Thanks,
Bill

Hey Gary,
Yes, but all I'm trying to do is change bits and zero the "Z". I type in C2 and that's the message I get. I think I caused the problem when I disconnected the controller from the computer without shuting down the Shopbot 3 software. I'm thinking of re-installing the software.
What do you think?
Thanks for the help!

Bill..
Yes... try reinstalling SB3 and the firmware. I tried a couple combinations and couldnt repeat your error message. Maybe some of those scary smart programmer types know this one, I am sure that: &my_waterdepth>&my_myheight (over my head)

That's funny! Well... I re-installed the SB3, but what is the firmware? I actually ran the rough cut on the part I'm making and it ran fine. Now I can't go on until I change a bit... hence the problem, no C2 command, just an error message.

Bill...
Even tho I dont think it is a factor, Use the {UI} command in SB3, that installs the firmware.

Ok... Loaded the firmware as well. No Joy! I've tried to use the C1, C2, C3, commands all I get is the error message.
Any Help?? Is SB open tomorrow?

Bill,
Gary has the right idea...get in touch with Tech Support...but here are a few things to check.
*) Make sure that everything was installed correctly and in it's default location. You should have an "SbParts" folder installed on your "C" drive, and in it should be a folder named "Custom". That has all the custom cuts files and also a "my_variables" file that holds your tool settings like the zzero plate thickness. Is it all there and in the correct location?
*) If everything is in it's correct location, could there be anything funky with the file permissions on that computer that would keep the ShopBot software from accessing the Custom folder? What operating system are you running?
*) Also in the "Custom" folder are the actual files that do the zeroing...the custom cuts are really only shortcuts. If you're sure that your "my_variables.sbc" file and the "Custom90.sbc" file exist in your Custom folder, you could try running the "zzero.sbp" file with the FP command, just like running any other part file, by typing "FP, C:\SbParts\zzero.sbp".
Like Gary said, though, Tech Support is your best shot and they're always on call.

Thanks Bill... I tried that and still no love on: JH, C2, C3...ect. I even tried deleting the files and re-installing them. I'm going to email tech support. Thanks for all the advice!

Have you tried to move the shopbot.ini file to the desktop (as a backup for your personal settings review) and restart SB3 so it create a new/default one?
