Good Morning All.
One of my shopbots has recently began pausing when running part files. It happens every few minutes or so and can last 30-120 seconds. It happens at completely random times...not at the same part of a file. It doesn't lose its location or its place in the file. It will just start up again as if nothing happened. Has anyone come across this before? There doesn't seem to be any loose conections. The computer is used strictly to run the bot, it is not connected to a network or the internet so I'm assuming (but don't know for sure) that it is not the problem. If this is a symptom of a larger problem I want to take care of it before the bot crashes. Thoughts?
Thanks,
Gregg

Its an older PRT machine running software v. 3.4.27

I should also mention that the pausing is not caused by the shopbot reading/loading lines of code.

Are you sure that it isn't stopping to read more data. Have you run a check to see if your computer is running correctly and windows is not grabbing your ram and not releasing it.

Checked for virus or worms? You can pass them in the usb mem.

Yep, I'm positive its not stopping to read data. This is a new problem and it can happen after only a few lines. It will even happen in the middle of a move using the keyboard move controller. When I run with the Windows task manager open I only show a CPU usage of 3%. I have not checked for virus. Its worth checking but its unlikely to be the case. I have a dedicated flash drive that I use to transfer cut files to the computer and that is ALL it used for. I suppose it could be some preinstalled software trying to check for updates or something along those lines. I'll run a virus check, Uninstall any unneeded software and see what happens.

You say you use a dedicated flash drive but that won't stop a virus from loading on your flash drive when you plug it into your design computer that is connected to the internet.

Maybe a connection issue?

I would try and delete the .ini, sounds like a crupt setup file to me.

This sounds like a network timeout. Where the computer is trying to connect to another resource. jump drive, printer, wireless adapter, etc.
Are you using an extension cable for your thumb drive? Could be a loose connection. Also, is there a network attached?

Troubleshooting: Get it to do it with a keyboard move and then immediately check your event logs. This is often a good source to determine whats up. :o

HTH,
