I updated to the latest control software today, and now my Bot acts like it's on Valium, it jogs like me, very slowly. I have the jog speed set to 30 but it doesn't seem to recognize it. Any idea why? Kip

Run C:\Program Files\ShopBot\Diagnostics\SpeedTest.exe and post your speed.

-B

My Diagnostics folder is empty, any idea where speedtest might be? Thanks, Kip

Brady, I found it. I ran the test 4 times. The lowest rate was 78.8 the highest was 80. Thanks, Kip.

Have you update the firmware?

Have you check the Jog speed value?

In K mode, the tool react quite slowly; it ramp on a somewhat long distance... it behave differently in cut mode; more as we were use to with 3.4.*...

Does it move correctly?

Jog speed is set at 30. In keypad mode it defaults to 8. It may or may not reach 8 holding down the control key, hard to say for sure. When running a file it only reaches about 3 tops. I have a huge cabinet job to start tommorrow and speed is extremely important. I'm leaving next Fri. to take 16 kids on a mission trip. Every second counts on this one. If anyone knows what's going on, I sure would appreciate your help.

Try having SB3 (3.5.3), to redo another brand new shopbot.ini file (maybe it's corrupted). Move the original from the 'C:\Program Files\ShopBot\ShopBot 3' to the desktop then restart SB3 and see if it help.

If it all failed, revert to 3.4.26 and reload the firmware with it and place back the shopbot.ini file you moved.

Have you made any other changes recently?

What happen if you enter 'JX,10'? Does it jog slowly? what if 'MX,10'? Does it move at the correct speed (feed)?

Hope this help.

Kip,

Check the ramp values (VR) and in particular check the jog ramp rate. If set to high, it will take longer to get up to the set jog speed. Try something like .2. That's what the default is for v3.5.3.

I mistakenly had mine at .4 the other day and it wouldn't reach jog speed at all between smaller jog moves.
