A while back, my computer quit, and I picked up a similar vintage used, installed my original hard drive, with all the SB stuff. On loading SB3 , the original port did not work, so I tried all choices in sequence. At port 9 the connection worked, and things have been fine.

I started this morning with a simple profile cut, using 3.26 which I have used for months without problems. I moved to project center, zeroed the Z then decided to preview. The end result was a large gouge before I could quit, due to a 3.26 preview bug well known to others, but not to me.

I spent a couple of hours glueing up new stock, then downloaded and installed 3.27, which, according to the notes, fixes the bug that ate my project. On trying to install new control box SW, the port options are 0 to 8. I am on 9. There is a hardware multiplier choice that may have some effect. but I have no idea what it means.

I have a couple of hours before the glue dries, and two questions meanwhile.

1. 3.27 seems to work. Am I in trouble using the CB software used wirh 3.26? Or are they both the same, as is frequently the case.

2. How can I download to port 9? If not today, I will need to know someday.
