Hi All,
My SBot is PRT96, running ver 3.3.2 When I set XY move speed below 0.21 It will loose contact with control box. Is it only me, or is it limitation?
Nothing serious, just playing with the new software.

It is probably a bug! Already seen this in previous version... I think you should be able to set your desired speed...

I have the same problem when the Z move speed is set to .20 only on 3.3.2 though.

Be carefull to your small bits!... but you should be able to set Z speed to your need and wishes.
Report your observations to SB support too...

I think that loosing connection might be a bigger issue. I had speed set to XY=1 and Z=0.5 and in the middle of cutting circles connection was lost. All my zeroes went south. It is my fault that I did not have any reference where my zeros are so there is no way I can cut again the same piece of plywood. Within last few days it happened 3 times

I test 3.3.2 today at thoses settings and every thing was fine for me... but when I hit up or down key fast, going up, down, up, down, up, down... you know; as someone really stress; I loose connection too... Now, how much RAM do you, George and Kenneth, have on your control computer? Do you hav any other software that could interfere with SB3? What tool are you using; Alpha or PRT?

Hi Paco,
I forgot to ask you. If you set XY speed to let's say 0.15 then your Alpha runs fine? I do not mean extreme moves back and forth but normal moves few inches here and there.

Well, folks I just joined the lost connection crowd. Been using the new SW for a few days now with no problems, mostly cutting plastic at speeds above 60/40ipm.

Set up to cut some pocketed letters 1" high in aluminum at 20/15ipm, which I was able to do just fine with previous SW, and, come to think of it, yesterday I cut 3D letters in melamine to test for the set-up today in aluminum. Of course the speeds were set higher in the melamine and it was 3d, not pocketed. Anyway, tonight it lost connection every time about 30sec/250-300 lines into the cut.

Just set it up for the same cut in air at .4/.4ips and it is running fine. A little faster than I would like to cut aluminum with an 1/8" bit.

Should I go back to the previous version of the SW? Will I have to reflash if I do?

Of course this happens when I have to have a 3' X 5' brass plaque engraved "right away".

Information & commiseration invited.

I have managed to misplace the last version of the Windows control software. Doesn't seem to be available on ShopBot. Can anyone help me out with this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Do you mean installed on another folder than the one that it should? If so, you might only need to uninstall it and re-install...
If else; more details needed...

No, I mean sometime ago I downloaded the previous version to my hard drive, installed it, then recently downloaded the latest and installed it. Now I want to go back to the previous version and can't find it on my hard drive.

Thanks so much, Frank, but I have a regular PRT.

I suppose I could go back to the DOS version, but the Windows version prior to 3.3.2 seemed to work just fine for me.

Thanks Paco,
Mine moves Z at 0.09 speed only for a second before loses connection. Look like I have to go back to DOS software. I noticed that old DOS software was removed from Download area. Well I do have it somewhere on my hard drive.

Yup, went back to 3.1.14 on my PRT and everything went back to normal. Engraved a big brass plate all day at .2/.2.

Thanks to Bud, Joe & Frank for the help.

I guess latest, greatest isn't always the best option.
