Do anybody ever eared of a CAD software that would allow to draw with vectors over a .jpg, .bmp, .tif, .gif file open as a template in the background? A clear background CAD software could do too!!! (Working over an other program window)

Rhino is one. There probably are many others.

Paco,
I have made transparencies made and taped them to my CAD screen to input files before I bought RHINO. Other methods are converters that convert JPG and Bitmap to Vectors and "snap" to points on those files.

We do it all the time with AutoCad LT2000.

Paco,
I do a lot of it with CorelDraw. For example, I'll scan in a badge for various law enforcement departments and use the biezer tool to trace it. I then use that outline to make a custom fit pocket.
