I have a 2.9 year old that is crazy about Thomas Train and all his pals (and who could forget James and Percival ?). I want to make a simple 2'x4' board with a a railroad track cut out to run the trains along. I need to make 2 lines that are exactly 1" apart but I am not seeing that functionality...yet. Two circles would be easy with a 1" radius difference betweeen the two, but I was hoping to make it a little more interesting of a track layout than that !! Perhaps a figure 8 !?!

I have already played with the offset tool and I can't make it reproduce both halves of the figure 8, nor does the offset appear to be able to accurately copy the original item unless it is a perfect circle or square.

Anybody ?

Anybody ?

4089 (45.1 k)

4090 (25.1 k)

You'll need to check the middle to see if it suit your tolerance... and it is scaled to 10% for file size matter.

If you have another software package like Autocad, you can draw as a polyline. Or the offset should work. In Autocad (and CADKey) it is designed to offset at 90 degrees.
