Hello John,
I just mounted a $50 Dremel tool on my ShopBot and am very pleased with the result. I'm embarresed to report that previously I have used a $450 Air Turbine Tool (1/10 HP) router driven by two 13 amp compressors.

John,
If you mean the type of engraving done on metal
with a diamond scribe,
i made one for a different cnc machine
but the concept would work here
i used a 5" diamond scribe i ordered from a engravers supply house (about 20$)
i made a wooden form that made the scribe
spring loaded (this makes it able to handle
uneven surfaces) and mounted the form to the z axis.
you just have to get the "down position" to exert a little pressure to engrave the metal
very simple and it works great!
