Parts Wizard

Did a file in ArtCam Pro, (the example of the AustinMartin) then when I tried to import into parts wizard, the message was "Failed to create Model. This file was written by s latter version of ArtCam. ArtCam 5.501k"

What am I doing wrong?

Artcam is similar to some other programs , in that you cannot "go backwards" to a prior version after a file is created. ( I think Corel Draw did that to me once also..). They (Delcam) sent us a note stating that any file created in 5.510 could not be opened in previous versions.
If it's a 3-D file you probably can't open it in PW anyway...Bill P.

Hi Bill, I understand the concept of not being able to open an *.art file done In 5.510 in an earlier version of Art Cam Pro, But shouldn't you be able to open the *.art File in the current Ver 1.01 Parts Wizard?

I'm trying to run into as many problems as I can before the ArtCam Pro Class in NC, and I'm doing a pretty good job of it. Jim

I may be wrong here, but I believe the 1.01 PW was issued BEFORE 5.510 was...You should be able to get a definitive answer from Grant or Brian down at Shopbot however...Bill

Thanks Bill, I'll get in touch with them Mon. Maybe they have an update for parts wiz 1.01
