I can't get the SB converter to convert my autocad .dxf file. getting run-time error "13"
type mismatch.
any help would be appreciated

I believe the converter needs a closed path.
Could be that your, dxf, is a series of open ended lines with a node at each end.
Example: Autocad is notorious when making a circle, to use hundreds of little strait lines unlike a true vector program, such as Sign Lab, Flexisign, Adobe Illustrator, Corel Draw, etc. that makes a closed single, four node line.

Joe, I've never seen AutoCad break a circle into straight lines, except on the computer display screen. AutoCad is is a true vector program and its circles/arcs are pure and accurate. You have an option to set the display resolution for more speed. (press View -> Regen to see smooth circles)
W.Ray, I am not familiar with error 13, but you can try the following things:
- Save as a ACAD version 12 dxf, or the lowest level dxf available to you.
- Explode all your polylines before you make the dxf.
- Close AutoCad because it often doesn't allow another application to open a file that it is busy with.
Some DXF file "type" can't be read by the SB converter readilly; if you can try RE-saved it in another program, you might get it to read it... I have got this kind with DXF file from some program... RE-saving 'em in other software "partialy fixed the problem"...

An 'Error 13' is a variable type mismatch...generally speaking can (but not necessarily) mean that the program is trying to assign a datatype (like text for instance) to a variable that is assigned to a number type...
1st place that I would look is your file itself. Make sure that you have closed geometry, that you delete any dimension information and text, and that if you are using layers that you assign different colored vectors to each of them. If you use the same colored vectors for more than one layer (and in some cases vectors on the same plane) it can cause problems with the converter. I forget how to do it...but the converter will assign different Z-levels depending on vector color that you use in your DXF.
Make sure that you are also using the latest version of the control software because I know that improvements have been made to the converters.
