We make a line of gun cabinets and need to pocket for the gun bases. This isn't the exact routine I use but it illustrates the ability to pocket at an angle. Note the the line to the right on which the pocket is extruded can be many shapes from curves to v shapes at depth.

Start with a new file-normal
>Draw-Line-Coordinates >Start coordinates
>x=2 >y=-.25 >z=0 >End Coordinates
>x=2 >y=6.25 >z=-.375
>Draw-other curves-ellipse
>x=0 >y=3 >z=0
>Width=3
>Height=6
Check the Interpolation with lines box (you are going to offset an ellipse & Vector recommends that you always use lines instead of arcs for this)
>OK
>Fit view to geometry
>Deselect line (click on line)
>Draw-other curves-offset
>Side of chain=left
>distance=.125 (1/2 half of cutter)
>Intersect all
>No selfintersection
> Do not check one Path (that is for One Path from multiple contours, this is just one contour)
>Click ok
>Draw-hatch
>Distance=.2
>Angle=90
>Predefined pattern=vertical
>Click ok
>Special-Reverse every 2nd Draw Line-Connect Change Attributes, Type Layer=Hatch Click Color=Blue OK View-3D-Default
>Shift-select offset
>Draw-other curves-connect at z
>View-3d-side right Omit the above 3 lines
>Deselect all (click on blank area)
>Select line (angled line)
>3d-Set surface-extrude x
>Deselect
>Shift Select large rapid (dotted line) Omit the above 2 lines Then Edit-Select Click Blue OK >3d-projection
>Accuracy=.005
>tool diameter D=.25 Tool Diameter=0 >tool core diameter E=0
>click ok
> Draw-Other Curves-Connect at Z take defaults Shift select the offset curve 3D-Projection Connect at Z Deselect all Shift Select the tall tail of the Hatch Shift Select the tall tail of the Offset Special Insert NC Generate

I'm with you up until the "Omit the above 3 lines."

What?

Then further down I start scratching my head again with the "omit the above 2 lines" and then the "Edit-Select Click Blue OK."

What blue entities are in the drawing to be selected?

I'm confused.

I made that post on note pad. I think they are notes to myself that I left in. I think I omitted the lines above and substituted others to make the routine faster. I have to meet a client very soon but after that is done I will check to make sure that I pasted and posted the correct routine.

Sorry I so dumb.

Yes, I thought I had reposted the correct info. Will dig it out this weekend and repost. Besides, all of a sudden I now have 3 gun cases to make.

It's important to remind the elderly often.

Just make sure you remind me to remind you.
