Can someone please explain to me how the hatch commands in casmate pro works. For intance I want to rout out around some lettering so that it's raised, but everytime I try it, it routs a path around my text then comes back to clean the hatched out and takes the text with it. I hope this makes sense. Thanks, jon Himes

To hatch out the area around the letter you have to sort the contours first. This means that you need an outside contour blue and the inner contour red (the letter)

You need to draw an outside perimeter (a rectangle, or circle or any other shape that you want the hatched out area to have)

You select the two contours or more if you have a word, (I mean select all the letters) and then click on the sort command.

You should have your outer perimeter blue and the inner contours red (letters in your case).

If you hit the F9 key on the keyboard it should paint your design. Whatever is black is what the router will cut. Unless the black is what you want there is no way that the hatch will work properly or your design will be what you want.

You then select the perimeter and letters and then select engrave 3D etc...

I use Casmate a lot and can make it do anything I want, you can e-mail me directly at pjldesigns@hotmail.com (mailto:pjldesigns@hotmail.com)

Let me know how you are doing one way or another.
