My son's senior class approached me yesterday to help them with their present back to the school. Approx 6 months ago someone removed a wood carved mascot of a Trojan head I have made many 2d carving of this and have the file in dxf. But lack the knowledge to change the 2d into a raised contoured curving, 2.5D OR 3D. Can anybody out there help a soft heart dad that can't say no...
Thanks Bryan Crismas

Hello Bryan,
You can accomplish what you want to do using the VS3D software. You can download VS3D and try it out with no obligation. I would be happy to walk you through the steps necessary to turn your DXF file into a 3D ShopBot part.
Here is a recent announcement from Designs Computed - the creator of VS3D:
Greetings,
For a very limited time only, Designs Computed is offering VS3D for the incredibly low price of $975 !
For that you get all the great features of VS3D version 1.21:
Free-form relief sculpting,
True 3D carving and engraving,
Image embossing,
DXF & STL,
3D CAD,
CNC routing,
Outputs in standard G & M codes, ShopBot, Mikron/Bostomatic, HPGL (laser),
Automatic tool offset calculations for all cutter bit shapes,
Visual feedback of proposed cutting path results on material surface, and
Much more !
VS3D's functionality compares favorably to programs such as ArtCam PRO, Type3,
and Cimagrafi - but at a much lower cost. In fact, VS3D has many features not
found in those programs.
Why pay 10 times as much for CAD/CAM software when VS3D is superior and easier to use !?
For a free no-obligation 30-day trial of VS3D, visit the VS3D home page at:
http://www.DesignsComputed.com/vs3d
You can actually try out VS3D and cut parts before you buy !
Thank you,
Daniel Carr - President
