I will be a new owner of an alpha, soon. I plan to use it to cut cabinets. What software is there for cabinet makers. I am using 20/20 for design but it is for designing only. Looking for something inexpensive.
Hi Einer!
I'd suggest to have a look at this one (http://www.cabinetpartspro.com). Give it a fair try... and don't hesitate to use this page (http://www.cabinetpartspro.com/SUPPORT.htm) for any help or feedback!

This is not the same product Gene-This is a near freeware that is being developed by Ryan Patterson. It is an extremely basic and easy program that converts box dimensions to cut lists and outputs SB code. It is not a cabinet design program such as kcdw, Cabinet Vision, etc.
Einer, you can get a full cabinet design program for free from e-cabinets but it only outputs Thermwood code (guess who makes it.)
Tell me more How do i find it . I know 1 thing for sure cabinet pro is not a good thing.
when i was at the jamboree i picked up a disc for free doors . do you have any experience with it? I tried to use it and couldnt get it to work.
i think it couldnt find a file or something?
just like me in this shop i cant find alot of things ,,,,, Gene

gene-follow the link Paco posted above (click on the blue "this one". If you have a problem loading the freeware version e-mail Ryan and he wll get back to you. Bruce and Michael will give you all the support you need to get free doors running too. I think there has been another update since the jamboree. Use the shopbot search tool and you will probably have more info than you thought possible. For the thermwood program go to http://www.ecabinetsystems.com/

Cabinet Pro offers a 30-day money back guarantee on its software products. For Gene, it was extended to 60 days at his request.
Cabinet Pro has developed over a 19 year period and is designed for the custom cabinet shop. Although we try very hard to satisfy our customers, we realize that we will not be able to satisfy everyone.
We have updates posted every two weeks or so because our customers are continually requesting new features and capabilities, which we try to fullfill as soon as possible.
Cabinet Pro now takes the user from design to bidding to cutlists to panel optimization, and now, directly to CNC output for the ShopBot and other CNC routers. For a SINGLE program to perform all of these tasks with CUSTOM CABINETS as well as modular cabinets, with face frame construction and frameless construction, the user must be prepared for a couple of weeks to learn all aspects of Cabinet Pro.
Sincerely,
Frank D. Jimenez

gene: what you experienced with Cabinet Pro is unfortunate. I have used the program for over 3 years and found it to be just great. Once you learn the ins and outs it works just fine. In fact I just ordered the new CNC edition because it writes the cut list direct to ShopBot in ShopBot code, no converting thur a third party software. Less chance of mistakes.
