I'm cutting 2" Ultraboard from customer's file(AI format) with Onsrud 52-367(21/8CEL, 1/2Dia,
4OAL). It worked perfect except cut size. Cut size supposed to be 29inch high but came out 28inch. How do I compensate 1 inch losing by
bit(1/2" dia)?
This was how I did with PW2.
Vector import, Transform Vector: scale 400%, rotate 90D, while Profiling
Profile: Outside
Start Depth: 0
Finish Depth: -2.03(As Jerry Hicks suggested)
Allowance: 0 (am I suppose to do something here?)
Tolerance: 0.001

And then I copied this file to PW1(my computer
hooked up to my SB/PR96 with DOS OS) and cut it.
So far Jerry's suggestion was invaluable such as
adding up vacuum formed plastic sheet on top of
spoil board. Thanks Jerry.
I used Onsrud 52-367 because it was only available bit on stock locally. I'll get this morning #40-562(foam cutter)by UPS.

Chris, you said that a height of 29" supposed came out as 28" true.

How do the following supposed dimensions come out?:
2" high - did that come out as 1" or 1.93"
29" wide.......
2" wide.......

Trying to establish if you might have scale factor (unit value) problems on x and y axes....

Hi Chris,

I've come across something similar in the past.

Are your parts grouped and with one toolpath?

Try ungrouping the parts and giving each its own individual toolpath. They can then be saved to one cutting file.

or try changing the toolpath from outside to inside.

Check your toolpath preview screen, be sure that when you selected to cut on the outside that it actually cut on the outside. Sometimes PW will surprise you.

Thank you Gerald, Robert & Phil.
Yes, PW surprises me.
I've changed toolpath to "INSIDE" and it worked.
I love this forum.

HUH?
Toolpath to inside of the line cut outside of the line? Something's still not quite right Chris. This may have worked on this project but could cause issues maybe on future projects.
Hmmmmm...interesting.

Hi Chris and Bill,

I think you will find that you have a vector which needs closing. Because it is still open the parts wizard is having to basically guess which is the part and which is waste.

Also

When importing dxf files I have sometimes found the tinyiest of vectors which have been part of grouped items; these to have spoilt my toolpath. I have ungrouped the items, identified them and deleted them by using node editing.

Hope this explains a little more
