I think the toolpath part of the app received a major overhaul. The results seem to make more sense. Even the roughing paths seem to be more efficient. I recalculated some toolpaths and will be cutting them today. I could be imagining things, but I don't think so. Crazy people dont think they are, do they?
More as the news unfolds.

I love whatever they did. I like the edge cleanup and the speed. Go Vectric!

Edge clean up?
What's that all about?

Joe,
I thought it was just my imagination. Between the upgrade and my speeding up inches/second (JR has been telling me every time he stops by that I should run faster), I am getting stuff out the door in record times!

Did they in fact make changes to the way toolpaths are calculated? I didnt remember seeing that in the list of changes.

I just finished a descent size project 36"x80"x3" and the tool paths were rockin except the pocket path with clearance. Its mostly OK but there are long stretches without any clearance. It looks like steps were lost but there are no cuts outside the boundaries. Just what looks like missing cuts. Very peculiar.
Breaking out the hand chisel... Wheres that damn mallet. Its the dark ages around here I guess I'll have to clean up those areas (shudder) manually.

OK, so after some sleep it looks like the machine did lose something. What a pain. You can see that the 60° bevel is gone on the right side. I was being very Conservative it was a 1/4 down spiral 0.15 passes to .25 and 4ips @ 40% step over. There is a large 3D element on this work already which is why I was being so careful in the first place. Oh well. I will make it beautiful anyway. Pics to follow manual labor in show and tell.

Might the part have shifted on the table?

Nope. It was 4x8x3 stock screwed down for good measure ...
