View Full Version : Which program for Carved Onlays and Rope molding

Which program for arched rope moldings, carved onlays. Looking to do work like you would order from enkenboll designs. Is this possible? What is least expensive program for cutting cabinet parts? What about mDF doors?

Martin, I do Enkeboll type carvings on the bot. I typically make those types of items in ArtCam Pro since it has an outstanding relief carving editor which acts like a virtual carving tool. I am starting to make corbels and intricate columns and other multi-sided components using Cut3D from Vectric. I output my relief panels from ArtCam, imort them into 3D Studio Max and assemble them into full 3D parts with all sides put together. Then I import that complete piece into Cut3D which does the multi-sided machining. Vectric also has a great program called VCarve Pro. I use it for V-Carving and inlay work where it tends to be faster than working with ArtCam. Here are the links to the vendors mentioned above:
